About The Event
In this 90 minute class, we will dive into compelling crime concepts and what makes them so irresistible.
First off, we will analyse some iconic crime novels, movies and TV shows and work out what exactly pulls people in, especially with reference to 'the hook'.
Next, we will generate ideas for our own crime fiction concepts. Lucy will take writers through every step, such as starting with a shocking event, introducing an intriguing character, or presenting a puzzling scenario.
The class will conclude with a sharing session where participants will share their concepts with their peers, inviting discussion and feedback on their characters and proposed plots.
Writers will leave Lucy's class with a polished concept, as well as greater understanding of how characters and plotting are inextricably linked.
